Deep crowd surrounding every screen, bar filled. And silence. Attentive silence, but silence. Listening and judging, and listening to both, carefully. I’m beginning to believe that Obama’s careful statements, always avoiding attack, always acknowledging something true said by his opponent, may actually work. I want to believe this, because, again and again, I wanted to put the point on his words: after stating what is wrong in what George Bush and the Republican administration have done, how their failed judgement created such disasters, he should point out that John McCain must take responsibility, instead of running from his mistakes. But he doesn’t. And McCain’s condescending repetition that Obama fails to understand just falls flat. I think people see through this, because Obama never backs down.
